anonymous confessions from iran
Anonymous Persian-language confessions — what writers post when domestic platforms aren't safe enough.
Iran's anonymous-confession scene operates under significant constraint. Persian-language confession content on domestic platforms (Aparat, Soroush) is heavily monitored; international platforms (Twitter, Reddit) are blocked at the network level for many users. Writers who reach platforms like this one typically do so via VPN and represent the more digitally-fluent end of the population.
The Iranian feed reads quieter than its population would suggest — a function of access constraints, not interest. When entries do land, the dominant categories are family expectation, religious doubt and observance, gender and identity confession (where the legal stakes are some of the highest on the global feed), and diaspora confessions written from outside Iran toward people inside.
A safety floor for Iranian writers: please don't post details that narrow to a specific neighborhood, university, or family. Anonymity here is technical (we don't log IPs); operational anonymity (specific details, posting patterns, time zones) is yours to maintain.
