anonymous family confessions

Family secrets people are still carrying — kept, leaked, regretted, or finally let go.

Family is the category where confession-site research consistently finds the deepest entries. Sociologists Webb and Lehman, writing in the British Journal of Social Psychology, describe family secrets as 'cumulative weight' — the longer you carry one, the more of your life it ends up shaping. People come here to set that weight down somewhere it can't be traced back.

What shows up: paternity questions, sibling rivalries that never closed, addictions hidden in spare bedrooms, parents who picked the wrong child, the relative everybody quietly cut off. Some confessors write to a person who'll never read it; some write hoping somebody recognizes the shape of it. Neither motive is wrong here.

We ask one thing: don't post anyone else's identifiable details. The confession is yours; their privacy isn't. If a post breaks that line, it's removed — not because the story isn't real, but because anonymity has to protect the people in your story too.
